🏌️ Play with your SimGolf
Pick the folder of your installed copy of SimGolf (the one holding Data, Flics and
Sounds, often C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimGolf). The original art, sound and music, made
new. Or the SimGolf CD: an image of it (.iso, or a Mac's .cdr), a .zip of either, or the
CD itself picked as a folder; it is unpacked here, nothing to install. The files are read in this tab only;
nothing is uploaded.

Want the original sounds and music? Use the SimGolf CD or an image of it
(.iso), or a full installed copy. Some downloaded copies of SimGolf have the art but leave the sounds
out: their Sounds and SimsFX folders are empty. The game still plays with those, using
the free OpenSGolf sounds instead.
Zips made with Windows, 7-Zip or a Mac's archivers (Deflate64, BZip2, LZMA) are unpacked here even where the iPad's Files app cannot. After loading, the page says what it found.

Saves and packs
💾 Your saved games: back up, restore, or move to another device NEW!
The games you save here are kept in this browser's own storage for this site (not in a folder on your computer),
so clearing the site's data, a private window or another browser will not have them. Back up my saves
downloads all of them (with your settings, championship courses and records) as one .zip to keep anywhere.
Restore saves... brings such a backup back, here or in another browser, and also takes single saved games
(.sgs) from the desktop version (they are in Saved Games in its save folder) or a zip of
that whole folder. Saved games of the original SimGolf
(.sve) are taken too: each becomes a new game, "name (imported)", in Load Previous Game; so
is its Top 10 Designers table (top10.sve).
To carry on a game on another device (another browser, computer, phone or tablet): Back up my saves here,
then Restore saves... there (or copy the files into the desktop version's Saved Games). In the game,
Load Previous Game's Export this save... and Import a save file... do the same for one game; tick
Import and export saved games in Preferences, OpenSGolf extras, Helpers to show them.
🖼️ HD graphics (optional)
Add an AI-upscaled art pack you made yourself from your own copy (see docs/HD.md). Pick the pack's folder
(with manifest.json) or a .zip. It never leaves your browser and must not be shared. Switch between HD and
Classic in the game's Preferences.
🧩 Mods and content packs (optional)
Content packs change the game's data, art, sounds, text or add scenarios (see docs/MODDING.md). Pick a
pack's folder (with pack.toml) or a .zip. New packs start switched off: turn them on in the game under
System Functions → Preferences → Content packs, then reload this page.

How to play
⌨️ Mouse and keys
- Click to build, drag to scroll, right click to undo or close
- Wheel or Z / X zoom; PgUp / Home turn the view (Mac: fn+↑ / fn+←); arrows scroll
- G green, again for a tee, F fairway, H opens the hole; Space drops the tool
- Reports F1–F10, or Alt+1–0 (Mac: ⌥ option, no fn needed); F8 lists every key
- Esc menu, ⇧+S / ⇧+L save and load, ] game speed
- Sharper 4K and widescreen: Preferences → Enhanced graphics
👆 Touch
- Tap to click, drag to scroll, hold for a right click
- Aiming your pro or placing a building: drag to set the spot, then tap Swing or the tick
- Pinch to zoom, twist two fingers to turn the view
- On-screen buttons for open hole, turn, speed and messages
